Yesterday evening I made my way over to Brookline to the reading and signing of Wildwood. Written by Colin Meloy and illustrated by his wife Carson Ellis, Wildwood takes place in a re-imagined Portland Oregon, chronicling the adventures of a young boy and his sister. Being a fan of both Colin's band, The Decemberists and Carson's illustrations I was excited to hear them talk about Wildwood. And of course I was ecstatic to meet them! Before the signing Colin and Carson were at Coolidge Corner Theater to read an excerpt from their book and to talk about their collaboration and the concept behind Wildwood. After the talk they headed over to Brookline Booksmith for the signing. It was so wonderful to meet and talk to them even if only for a minute or two. Both Colin and Carson are incredibly talented and inspiring people, Wildwood is sure to be an excellent read.
