I came across Cicada Studio's textiles on Etsy this week. Graphic patterns, great colors!

The Mayor's office of Arts, Tourism and Special events is seeking design submissions for a temporary installation for the 2009 Boston Ahts festival held at Christopher Columbus Park on the waterfront. So step it up Boston sculptor—you can submit upwards of 3 ideas, and there is a $500 stipend if you win. Not a bad incentive, especially in this economy…

Featured in Design Dish back in 2007, Amanda Clarke, is showing at Space 242 in Boston's South End starting February 27th through March 20th (Fridays evenings only). Amanda is a RISD grad who is an incredible illustrator/artist. Her 9-5 takes place at WGBH where she works in the interactive department. You can view more of her work at SparkyArt, and even buy some through Etsy. So shake off the winter blues and come support this local talent!

2009 is the year for our two favorite hues. Pink & Green. I found Terry Posters via Modern Craft yesterday and got sucked and wasted a little time perusing their astounding vintage and newer poster collection, most of which are Eastern European. You can view their entire collection online, and even buy a few, or if you're ever at the Světozor Cinema in Prague, you can buy one in person. The collection is a great source of inspiration for a poster lover and I've selected a few pink & green gems from their Children's Sector. Enjoy.
