The Associated Press is after Shepard Fairey for copyright infringement. The AP claims that Fairey owes them credit and compensation. Fairey's attorney is arguing that it falls under fair use. The artist has acknowledged that the print(above right) was based on AP photographer Manny Garcia's shot from 2006(above left). The article, in today's paper, goes on to compare the suit to the issues Campbells had with Andy Warhol's use of their product.
