revolutionary granola

I picked up a box of Archer Farms cereal at Target this weekend. Their new canister-style packaging is revolutionary. No more stale cereal!
From Target's Press Room: Available exclusively at Target and SuperTarget, the affordably priced Archer Farms cereal canister features a reclosable easy-flow spout and snap-shut lid that allow for simple pouring and snacking. This innovative packaging ensures that cereal stays fresher longer, while eliminating stale or unused cereal. Oblong shaped and partially constructed from recycled paperboard, the cereal canister offers a slim design...
It's like they've made a cardboard version of my favorite IKEA 365 kitchen storage containers.

purikura

I had a blast wandering around SF's Japantown and stumbled into the world's best purikura photo booth! Purikura is a Japanese term for "print club". Photo-sticker booths been popular for like a decade, but I had never been in one like this! You step into the booth and pick from six backgrounds.. adjust lighting... camera angle... and then take 6 pics. (I'm a little foggy on the options because the instructions were in Japanese.) Then you go around to the other side of the booth and get to decorate your 4 favorite photos with clip art, frames, writing, foil stamps, you name it. Click print and you're done. Fully customizable and cute. When are they going to make school pictures this fun?

Obata for President.

Just returned from a quick jaunt to DC. While the weather was way too gorgeous to spend our time museum-hopping, we did hit up the Smithsonian American Art Museum. I was crazy about Chiura Obata,'s prints. The exhibit featured a collection of traditional Japanese woodcuts he created from original watercolors that are truly impressive. They also featured a progression of 20 proofs of one print, Can you imagine 20 plates for one print! Unreal.
If you're in the Capitol city before June, you must catch this exhibit.
